Iris An was born in South Korea where she started learning the violin at the age of six. Some of her highlights as a young student include a first place award in the 1995 Kyung Hyang music contest and solo concerts with the Busan Symphony Orchestra.
Iris holds a Bachelor of Music from Dong-A University in Busan, as well as a BCCM Licentiate Performance Diploma for violin, from BC, Canada.
Iris has been a proud member member of the Burnaby Symphony Orchestra and the Pilgrim Orchestra in addition to her work as a teacher.
With a gentle approach and deep appreciation for music, Iris enjoys helping students from all ages and levels find true self-expression through their instrument.
