Leia’s musical journey started at age of 5 after getting her first piano from her mother. Growing up, she also learned to play violin and played clarinet as a soloist in middle school. She was born and raised in Malaysia where she learned to speak multiple languages (English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Malay). She achieved Grade 8 in ABRSM while pursuing her bachelor’s degree in accounting but soon realized her real passion is for music and decided to become a teacher.
As a teacher, Leia shares her passion and enthusiasm for music with her students of all ages and skill levels. She believes that the love for playing the piano and enjoyment of music is closely knit to having fun during the learning process. Leia’s strongest suit is classical repertoire but she also enjoys teaching a variety of musical styles including pop music.
